For many students, completing the application for undergraduate or grad school admissions is only the first step. The sorting process continues as the most ambitious students compete for national and school-sponsored scholarships, fellowships, awards, contests, and other national and international distinctions, which bring prestige, academic opportunities, and, often, generous funding.
Applications for these programs often consist of little more than a wish, a resume, and, of course, an essay. Almost every student who applies for these programs — from Rhodes and Marshall scholarships to Fullbrights to any of the countless merit scholarships and awards that individual schools offer — brings outstanding credentials. Applicants have earned impressive grades, published papers, forged relationships with faculty mentors, held leaderships positions, and honed in on their passions. An impressive resume alone will never, therefore, catch the attention of a selection committee. And neither will a bland essay full of generalizations, assertions, and lifeless summary.
Drawing on its years of experience, the team at Application Boot Camp® can help students turn their resumes, ambitions, and credentials into essays that make them stand out. Our approach is simple: to help applicants craft passionate stories and personal mission statements and to do with eloquence, style, candor, excitement, and sincerity/authenticity. ABC® lead works intensively with applicants help tailor their essays to the precise requirements of the applications — and then to exceed those requirements.
Standing out from among so many qualified candidates is a subtle task. All applicants intend to break new ground, advance the field, and improve the human condition. The ones who get the chance to do so are those who are just a little more eloquent — and a little more genuine — than the others.
In accord with Application Boot Camp’s® proven strategies, Josh will discuss potential topics, draw out the most compelling angles, and guide students through the writing process. At each step, Josh will offer candid feedback to make students’ writing clear and concise and their ideas fresh, personal, and unique. And he will provide motivation and set deadlines to combat writer’s block, which so often undermines students’ applications.

Testimonials for Scholarship, Awards, and Internship Essay Tutoring:
“Thank you for recommending Josh. He is absolutely outstanding and a terrific asset to your team. I would recommend him to anyone without reservation. I was somewhat skeptical at first since the communication between Josh and Jake has been entirely via the Internet. However, Josh exceeded any of my expectations for responsiveness, creativity and providing practical recommendations. One of more significant results is that with Josh’s advice Jake has become more confident and the quality of his essays have improved considerably.”
